APM; Association for Project Management, approached CUBE™ to create a series of videos to showcase amazing women within project management, their experiences and their achievements.
Having recognised a lack of senior female Project Managers, APM wanted to highlight the brilliant work that women are doing in project management across a range of sectors, and inspire women at all stages of their careers.
Recognising a similar lack of women within the production industry, APM's brief was one that the CUBE™ team felt especially passionate about. We knew that we wanted to deliver the project using an all-female crew, from Production Coordinator to Director, DOP, Gaffer and even Colour Grader!
It was important for us that we met with each of the women before filming to conduct pre-interviews and learn about them, their career, their experiences and their achievements.
We adopted a relaxed approach to filming, using an off-camera interview style with a handful of scripted lines delivered to the camera for direct appeal.
Adding variety to the style of our shots, and ensuring that each video felt authentic, we broke the fourth wall to reveal behind the camera and show our Director interacting with the women.
Shot alongside APM's award-winning Women in Project Management conference, we built a studio set-up within their conference venue, with different colour backdrops aligned to their upcoming rebrand.
We created a 2-3-minute hero video alongside a series of 60-second case study videos, reflecting on the experiences and achievements of women in project management
With the campaign being activated across YouTube and social media, we created a shorter, 60-second social media edit of the hero video, and optimised all videos in a range of sizes, suitable for all platforms.
Telling the personal stories of Lowry, who constructed Wales’ first PND unit and Helen, who created the BBC Radio 1 Chill playlist to support young people throughout lockdown, the case study videos dig deeper, while offering advice to women looking to develop their career, or move into a project management role.
Complimenting the videos, we captured behind-the-scenes photography, as well professional headshots of each of the women featured, to be used across the website and social media.
